In 1996, the French farmers dedicated great effort to defend their
products with that elegance and savoir-faire which are so typical of the French,
who are unique in knocking over Spanish lorries carrying Huelva's strawberry.
From the rest of the year, what can we say? It was a year of drought, temporary
jobs companies, professional army, illegal immigrants risking their lives on
the sea, racism and fishing negotiations with Morocco. That was it.
